In the native tongue of senior family member Andrew Duda, Viera has a special significance because it is a Slovak word
meaning “faith.” The word was chosen by the Duda family to name Florida’s new and beautiful community, Viera, as it embodies the family’s heritage and evokes visions for the future.
The family owns and operates A. Duda & Sons, Inc. After being established in 1926, the company evolved into one of the largest privately owned agricultural enterprises in the United States. Duda company operations include fresh, fresh-cut and processed vegetables and citrus, sugar cane, cattle, sod, and real estate.
The company began accumulating agricultural lands in Brevard County more than 60 years ago. As the family witnessed the progress of local development, it recognized the inevitable growth that would come its way.
To best accommodate that growth, the family established The Viera Company to develop a master planned community that would be built with faith, integrity and thoughtful stewardship of the land -- a community that would exceed the quality of life values sought by its new residents.
Today, springing up from former ranch lands, the New Town of Viera is one of the fastest growing communities on the Central East Coast of Florida.
Duran Golf Club stands in the middle of Viera and is one of the largest recreational amenities in this community. We’re proud to be part of Florida’s progress.
